Food Pantry Merced

Food Pantry

Families who are experiencing difficult economic times can come to Catholic Charities to ease the burden of feeding their families. We at Catholic Charities embrace our clients by lending a helping hand when times are tough and strive to give nutritional food that will sustain families until they can get back on their feet.

Food Distribution begins at 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays (closed for lunch from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. daily). Click here to view our eligibility criteria.

Donations from the community are greatly appreciated and very much needed. Items needed on a daily basis are canned goods, rice, beans, pasta, tomato sauce, tuna, peanut butter, cereal, and soup.

If you’re interested in holding a food drive or sponsoring our pantry for a day, please contact Dena Medeiros, Site Director at (209) 383-2494 or dmedeiros@ccdof.org.

Merced County Drought Boxes are also distributed at Catholic Charities daily Monday – Friday depending upon availability as part of California’s Drought Food Assistance Program (DFAP) through the Merced Food Bank. This food assistance program was developed in response to the Governor Brown’s Drought Emergency Declaration in January 2014 and provides food boxes in specified counties that have been most impacted by the California drought. These prepackaged food boxes that weigh approximately 30 pounds and contain nutritionally balanced, non-perishable food, designed to provide food for a household of four people for approximately one week.
