Fresno Harvest of Hope

Fresno Harvest of Hope

It seems like just yesterday we were sending you a letter celebrating the most successful Harvest of Hope event ever – one that raised more than $560,000 net dollars to help support hundreds of thousands of Valley families during their greatest times of need. But today, with much concern surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, it is with great sadness that we announce the cancellation of this year’s Harvest of Hope event.

The energy and generosity of this single night last September generated tremendous financial support for Catholic Charities and has allowed us to continue providing food, clothing, housing and more for families seeking help both at our brick and mortar site on Fulton Street, as well as through our rural outreach program fulfilling service gaps in Madera, Fresno, Kings and Tulare counties. Over 30% of all our food distribution is now through these coordinated outreach events taking place in isolated, rural communities throughout our Valley.

In the last year, our services have increased by 74%. Even more astounding, 40% of those now seeking assistance are new clients and have never had to ask for our help before.

In a year when faced with the headwinds of an unknown virus and social unrest throughout our nation, we know there will be challenges in the days and months ahead. However, we also know that we’re blessed with the spiritual, emotional and human connection that you, our donors, have to the mission of Catholic Charities. Your support and understanding of the great need for our programs serving the most vulnerable families of our community is what will get us through.

In a year when the demand for our services is greater than ever before, our commitment and dedication to this mission will not waiver. If there was ever a time, it’s now. The need is too great. Please donate towards this year’s Harvest of Hope effort and make a significant difference in the lives of our neighbors in crisis today.

You can donate by clicking here or you can mail your donation to 149 N. Fulton Street, Fresno, CA 93701.

May God continue to bless you and keep you and your family safe and healthy.
