Merced Harvest of Hope
It is with great gratitude that we thank all those who supported the 7th Annual Harvest of Hope that was held on Saturday, October 16th honoring Mary and Ben Howard and the Merced County Food Bank.
To those of you who were able to join us in-person and for those of you who sponsored or donated towards the event, thank you for making this year’s harvest possible! Your support makes it possible to continue serving families in their greatest times of need.
Last year, Catholic Charities of Merced served nearly 50,000 individuals – an 87% increase over the year prior! Of those served, only 11% are homeless which means that 89% are families who have fallen on hard times and are struggling to put food on the table at home.
Because of our generous Merced community, we’ve been able to provide food for these families at our site on Main Street five days a week. But we’ve also maintained our commitment to fulfilling service gaps in rural communities throughout the county by delivering food to Dos Palos, Los Banos, Planada and migrant camps in several communities through coordinated outreach events taking place each month.
Thank you for your unwavering support of Catholic Charities and those most vulnerable.
