Toys for Kids

All three of our sites in Fresno, Bakersfield, and Merced will be holding a Toys for Kids Christmas event to serve families in the greatest of need this holiday season. But we can’t do it without your help.

Catholic Charities is actively seeking donations to purchase new, unwrapped toys for children of families in need. You can donate now and designate ‘Toys for Kids’. Your donation will be applied to the Catholic Charities site (Fresno, Bakersfield or Merced) closest to your residence.

You can also donate a toy itself and drop it off at any one of our three sites.

The holiday season can be an extremely difficult time for struggling families and especially those with children. Those registered for these events include clients of all walks of life, from any faith or background, including those who are working paycheck to paycheck, those who may have lost their home to a fire, those who have recently taken in a family member, and so many others. Through events like these, Catholic Charities hopes to make a difference in a family’s life, put a smile on a child’s face and provide a holiday memory they can treasure forever.

Fresno

Toy Sign-Ups

Those visiting Catholic Charities seeking assistance after December 1st will be invited to sign up if the household includes children ages 0-12. Sign-ups will continue through December 21st or until capacity is reached. We can only accommodate 500 children. All children and families must be pre-registered to receive a toy and attend the Christmas for Kids event.

Christmas for Kids Event

On December 21st, the Junior Ministers of Presence (JMOP’s), a service group of students from San Joaquin Memorial High School, will help bring smiles to 500 children’s faces during the annual Christmas for Kids event. The event includes face painting, arts and crafts, the toy distribution, and photos with Santa Claus himself.

Bakersfield

On December 18th, the staff and volunteers of Catholic Charities will help bring smiles to 150 children’s faces during the annual Christmas for Kids event. The event will include fun Christmas activities, hot chocolate and of course, the toy distribution.
