Volunteer

Giving is Living

Volunteers are greatly needed to assist our clients Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at all three of our sites in the following ways:

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Everything from distributing meal boxes.
  • Sorting donations of food and clothing.
  • Welcoming clients and evaluating their needs.
  • Even answering phones.

Every amount of time is just a little small to give! Contact any of our three sites to see how you can get started and help create hope for needy families.

Service Projects

We are grateful for the support of so many friends throughout the 8-county Diocese of Fresno who are willing to share their time and talents to help those being served by Catholic Charities.

SAMPLE PROJECTS

Below are sample service projects that you can participate in to provide service in your community and help Catholic Charities:

  • Eagle Scout projects
  • Girl Scout projects
  • Confirmation projects
  • Parish-wide service day activities
  • Company-wide service day of activities
  • Young adult, college alumni, sorority or fraternity group activities
  • Senior groups

You can also help organize volunteer efforts for special projects such as:

  • Help put together emergency food bags for any of our three Food Pantries.
  • Host a baby shower collecting much-needed baby items for young, low-income mothers.
  • Host a wipe and formula drive for families with young children.
  • Host a hygiene drive, reach out to local dentists offices to see if they’d be willing to donate toothbrushes and toothpaste and put together small hygiene kits.
  • Host a coat and blanket drive for those anticipating the cold winter months.
  • Consider collecting donations for our programs in lieu of gifts at birthday parties for adults or children.
  • Make inspirational, hand-made cards for those being served that we can place into our Food Pantry or Rural Outreach bags.
  • Organize a Day of Service for your company or school and volunteer just a few hours of time together as a group.
  • Adopt a Family during the Christmas season and provide gifts for those who otherwise would go without.
  • Make sandwiches or sack lunches for our Food Pantry to provide to our homeless clientele in addition to our standard Travel Pack that is provided.
